By fitting Dino’s with sensors and their own internet connections Van Beek BV can collect data remotely to predict when maintenance is necessary or a risk of malfunction is occurring. “This way we can ultimately provide an even better service", says Mark Jonkers. He is investigating for Van Beek the use of Smart Industry for Dino bulk truck loaders. “Remote detection enables us to solve problems without a mechanic having to visit the customer. Another cost saving effect is the cessation of the precautious replacing of well-functioning components. It is now possible for instance to remotely measure the vibration of bearings and to replace them ‘just in time’. These developments also permit us to build a knowledgebase of our equipment, which in the end results in a better Dino for our customers.”
Van Beek is in the near future starting a large scale field test with a ‘Dino Wireless Monitoring System’. Existing Dino owners can take part in this field test.
